All J-Town club members, regardless of experience, are invited to participate in the J-Town race program. The club offers race training that covers everything from the basics up to the most advanced racing techniques.

Toronto sailing clubs have an established series of races for Albacores and Lasers starting in May running through to the end of September.

Friday Night Race Series

The Friday night race series is sponsored by the Toronto Community clubs as an inter club racing event. To make it a fair competition for advanced and beginner sailors, helms and crews in each club are paired by lottery.

At an inter-club gathering, prizes are awarded after each race, year end prizes for the top five helm and crew and a trophy for the first place club.

It is a hotly contested race series that attracts 40 to 50 Albacores at the peak of the season. There is a separate start and prizes for Lasers.

Regattas

J-Town and the other Toronto area sailing clubs host Albacore Regattas on various weekends during the summer. There are also out-of-town regattas as well as Provincial, National and International Championship regattas.

As well, J-Town has been holding a popular Laser Regatta, open to neighbouring clubs, for the last couple of years.

Harbour Master Series

The Harbour Master Series is 16 races for Albacores offered eight Sundays afternoons (1 pm) over the summer with two races per day. There are prizes for the top three boats in each race and a year end trophy for the first place helm.

Tuesday and Thursday Evening Racing

On Tuesday and Thursday evenings through out the summer The Outer Harbour Centre Board Club (OHCC) runs multi-fleet racing starting at 7 p.m. Other clubs are invited to race provided they respect the 'spirit of the racing' as determined by the OHCC. The Water Rats also holds races, specifically for Lasers, on Tuesday and Thursday nights, starting at 6:00 pm.
