Parties, Dinners and Special Events
J-Town holds many parties during the sailing season, as well as other special events all listed on the Club calendar and some described below. There are also parties at neighbouring clubs to which J-Town members are invited on most other weekends throughout the summer.
Spring Fling
Meet fellow members at a central pub and bring friends interested in joining.
Docks In
First duty of the season is to put the docks in and get the clubhouse and ground ready for the summer. Come early, and have a hearty breakfast to keep your energy up.
Lobsterfeast
A real east coast lobster supper. This event is a perennial favourite with members current and past. Lobsters, other dishes and dancing till the wee hours!
Social Sail and Dinners
Sunday and Wednesday evenings from June on, there is organized social sailing. If you don’t have a sailing partner, don’t worry – come and meet some new people and get out on the water! This is a great opportunity for beginner sailors to get more practice and for experienced sailors to meet other members.
After your sail, enjoy a meal prepared by a fellow member for the cost of ingredients. Sign-up board is in the kitchen. Please sign-up by Tuesday, so the chef will know how many to expect!
Sunday Social Sails are Potluck – you don’t have to sign up but bring some food to share. Of course, you may come just for the dinner and socializing!
White Sail Party / J-Town Regatta Racing
Dinner and awards ceremony with dancing and post regatta.
Annual General Meeting
Held in September at the clubhouse. Vote for your new executive board.
Docks Out
Sailing is over for the year, it’s time to get the docks out and tidy up for the winter.
Commodore’s Ball
Year end party with awards, dinner and dancing.
Christmas Party
Potluck dinner for 70 at the clubhouse with a visit from the man in red!
