For some, J-Town is a social club that likes to sail. We may only sail for six months, but we hang out all year. There is always something happening at J-Town!
Most new members take a training course and the class is a social event on its own. After the class there is always a dinner prepared by class members, which is a great time to get to know new people. Bring drinks! Not mentioned so far is the most universally engaged in social activity: sitting on the deck and shooting the breeze. This can take all afternoon and evening with intermittent bouts of sailing thrown in.
J-Town is your cottage. You will see people working around the club almost every day as we are a volunteer based community and we enjoy every little task we can take on to make JTown better.
Please email our Social Director at social@sailtoronto.com if you are looking to chip in! Thank you very much for being our awesome member!
Most new members take a Learn to Sail course and lessons are a social event on their own. After each class, dinner is prepared by class members. Enjoy a meal and get to know new friends! Bring a drink.
Social Sailing happens on Wednesday evenings. Sailors find a match of similar ability - or better! Afterwards we all have dinner and enjoy our drinks under the stars. Just sign up online so we know how many to cook for.
If you'd like to cook one of these amazing summerlicious meals, let us know (social@sailtoronto.com). Weekend social sails happen often too, frequently followed by informal potlucks.
PARTIES & EVENTS
The Club Crawl, J-Town Regatta, and Lobster Feast rank among our biggest events. We also function all winter long with various social events held at the club and, weather permitting, skating on the lake!
CASUAL TIME ON THE DECK
Perhaps the most universally engaged-in social activity at J-Town is just sitting on the deck to shoot the breeze. This can easily devour all afternoon and evening, with intermittent bouts of sailing thrown in.
J-Town is yours to enjoy - a cottage and a community.
